Service

No appointment?

No problem.

Because you can’t schedule a breakdown.

Our UPTIME BAYS ensure short repairs are addressed, and don’t get stuck behind other larger waiting repairs.

Innovative solutions to get you back up and running.

Our Process

CHECK-IN & INITIAL DIAGNOSTICS

Your Service Advisor will perform a walk-around assessment and connect to access your vehicle’s data. Initial diagnostics will be performed by our Service Technicians. Check-in and initial diagnostics will be completed in under two hours, so you’ll quickly know your truck’s status and can approve a repair plan.

UPTIME BAY

If the initial diagnostics indicates a quick repair, then your truck goes directly to an Uptime Bay. This ensures that short repairs are performed and completed within hours, not days.

ADVANCED BAY

If the initial diagnostics indicates that advanced diagnostics are required, your truck will be routed to an Advanced Bay. You’ll be advised of the anticipated repair time and costs ASAP.

We're committed to UPTIME

We know that performing and completing short repairs within hours is vital to keeping your trucks on the road and your business moving forward. That's why approximately 20% of all Vision Truck Group locations' service bays are dedicated UPTIME BAYS. Our Brampton Location has 8 UPTIME BAYS and can flex up to 16 at peak times. We are dedicated to UPTIME performance.

We Know UPTIME

Our RAPID REPAIR bays were so successful, that Volvo / Mack adopted the concept, patented them as UPTIME BAYS, and rolled them out as a Dealer Operating Standard across North America in 2016.

VISION TRUCK GROUP was the very first CERTIFIED UPTIME CENTER in the Dealer network.

Paperless Service Process

Vision Truck Group piloted Volvo / Mack’s ASIST platform for Canada in 2008, and worked closely with its partners to develop and integrate it into all Dealership operations.

What started out as a way to keep customers on the road by fixing “quick” repairs through our innovative Rapid Repair Bay approach, the process has evolved into a certified OEM practice throughout North America.

“We’re realizing a 12% increase in technician efficiency and proficiency from better organization of service event processes,” says Travis Brown, Director of Service Operations. “The more time our technicians can spend in the bay, the faster trucks get fixed and there’s less downtime for customers.”

Paperless Service Process

“The more time our technicians can spend in the bay, the faster trucks get fixed and there’s less downtime for customers,” says Travis Brown, Director of Service Operations.

Using an iPad, technicians view their assigned case in ASIST. The technician has access to the vehicle's specifications, service history, the initial diagnostics and any additional maintenance or repair requirements. In ASIST, technicians can add photos and notes before and during repairs, request parts, and communicate with other technicians who have worked on the vehicle in the past, service advisors and the shop supervisor. ASIST is linked to our dealer management system for ease of invoicing.

“With paperless capabilities, we have eliminated a communication disconnect,” Brown states. “Over multiple shifts, from case to case and technician to technician on a 24/7 basis, and with customers, the SRM technology makes transparent collaboration and improved communication possible.”

ASIST

ASIST is part of a web-based service management system that lets fleet managers and service providers work together, in real time, to expedite repairs and maximize uptime. It provides fast, complete and accurate service communication and estimates to your tablet or smartphone. And it gives Mack/Volvo dealers automated access to your specific fleet requirements, including vehicle-specific data on recalls, warranty coverage, repair plans and pricing.

Vision Truck Group piloted Volvo / Mack’s ASIST platform for Canada in 2008, and worked closely with its partners to develop and integrate it into all Dealership operations.

Natural Gas Compliant and Certified Facilities

We're here to support owner-operators and fleets who have made the switch to alternative fuels. Our Etobicoke and Brampton locations are Natural Gas compliant and certified facilities. Our technicians have specialized training to safely and efficiently repair compressed natural gas (CNG) trucks. In addition, we have invested in the specialized tools and equipment necessary for CNG repairs. We've made it a priority to support the drive towards a greener future.

Our Certifications and Capabilities

All our technicians undergo extensive Volvo / Mack factory training to meet the highest standards. Our concentration of Master Technicians drastically exceeds the Dealer Operating Standard required by Volvo / Mack. We are also certified dealers for Allison, Cummins, and Webasto.

DPF Cleaning - Preventative Maintenance

VISION TRUCK GROUP offers premium Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) cleaning for all makes and models using patented FSX cleaning technologies.

Standard over the counter DPF cleaning is $250, and a cleaning and thermal bake is $350. Loose clamps and missing gaskets can lead to expensive filter and housing damage, so remember to change your clamps and gaskets at each service.

FSX The TrapBlaster utilizes patented bi-directional air scanning technology to clean filters significantly better than competing designs, up to 94% of the ash deposits are removed. Upper and lower air jets allow individual cell by cell cleaning from both ends of the filter, not just one. The FSX technology has a built in diagnostic feature that makes it possible to detect filters that are failing. Adjustable to accommodate virtually any filter configuration. The FSX TrapBurner Thermal Cleaner provides a programmed, regulated thermal regeneration of troublesome filters without cracking or damage. Baking cycles are adjustable for Cordierite, Silicon Carbide, and sintered metal filters.

BENEFITS TO DPF CLEANING

Regular DPF and DOC cleaning not only improves fuel economy and horsepower, but also ensures that you get the maximum life from your filter, rather than costly replacement. Planned Maintenance of the system lowers your operating costs, reduces chance of breakdown and ensures harmful emissions are kept to a minimum. Mack and Volvo recommend cleaning the DPF in Normal Duty applications every 650,000kms or 10,000 engine hours, and in Severe Duty applications every 400,000kms or 4500 engine hours. Cummins recommends DPF cleaning at 320,000-640,000kms or 6000 hours depending on application.
